Considering a Relocatable Home in Auckland?

The building and the destination site need to be assessed together. A purchase price alone cannot tell you whether relocating a home is practical for your property.

Check the building information

Ask for its dimensions, weight where available, construction details, condition information and the documents supplied with the sale. Establish what is included, what needs removing for transport and who takes responsibility for each part of the move.

Investigate the route and site access

A transport specialist needs to consider the route, overhead obstacles, entrances and delivery method. At the property, look at the space for vehicles and any lifting equipment. Do not assume a building will fit simply because the site has enough open area.

Plan the work after arrival

Foundations, reassembly, services, weatherproofing and any remedial work need their own scope. Agree who coordinates the work and what inspections or documentation are required for the particular building and site.

Build a complete budget

Compare building purchase, transport, lifting, site preparation, foundations, connections and finishing as separate allowances. Include professional advice and a contingency suited to the uncertainties. Obtain relevant specialist quotes before committing to purchase.

Discuss fit before paying for a visit

TrickyBuilds can discuss the building and site-work enquiry with you. Transport and crane work require suitable specialists; a $75 visit does not purchase or book those services. Contact Caleb with the proposed building and property details to establish the next step.
