Our builders & insurance
We work with Licensed Building Practitioners (LBPs). Practitioner details and responsibilities are shared directly with clients for their project.
TrickyBuilds holds public liability and tool insurance. Project-specific insurance is arranged where applicable, depending on the project. We discuss the cover relevant to your agreed scope before work begins.
How quickly will you reply?
We’ll respond within 1 working day to new enquiries, Monday–Friday excluding New Zealand public holidays. For an urgent make-safe request, call 021 041 3920 to check availability.
When can my project start, and how long will it take?
We discuss availability after reviewing your scope, location and site conditions. Materials, design, approvals and specialist trades can affect timing. Your start date and programme are agreed before work begins.
Do I need plans before contacting you?
No. Bring your ideas, section details or existing drawings. For a new home, Caleb can work with your architect as the design and construction scope develop.
What does a site visit include?
A 60-minute discussion at your Auckland property and a written estimate, for $75 including GST. The full $75 is credited to the same job if you proceed within six months of your visit. Read the visit and cancellation terms.
Can we talk before I have plans?
Yes. Bring your ideas, site address and any property information. The initial visit helps identify the next design and feasibility steps; it does not include architectural plans.
Can you build from my plans?
Bring the latest drawings, specifications and approval information. We will discuss scope, site conditions and what is needed for a detailed construction estimate.
Is the online estimate a total development budget?
No. It is a construction allowance. Land, site work, professional fees, approvals and external works are separate, and may materially change your total budget.
Where do you work?
We service Auckland-wide, including West Auckland, the North Shore, Central, East and South Auckland. Travel beyond Auckland is by arrangement; contact Caleb before booking.
