TrickyBuilds guidance · Checked 22 October 2026 · About TrickyBuilds
This is a general care guide for this service. Use the instructions for the products actually installed and the information supplied for your job. Manufacturer links are reference resources, not a statement that those brands were used on your project.
Looking after the work
- Use extraction and ventilation when bathing. Remove surface water from shower areas as recommended for the installed products.
- Choose non-abrasive cleaners compatible with the shower, tapware and finishes. Do not mix cleaning products.
- Look at sealant edges, shower junctions and accessible plumbing while cleaning. A changed joint deserves attention, even when the room still looks tidy.
- Do not drill through waterproofed surfaces or cover a leak with new sealant as a diagnosis. Ask the appropriate installer to assess the cause.
When to contact us
- Water outside the shower, loose tiles, changed grout or sealant, or staining in the room below.
- Persistent musty smells or softened finishes around a wet area.
For an immediate threat to people, leave the danger area and call 111. For urgent building assistance, call 021 041 3920 to check availability. The online form is not an emergency service.
Keep these records
- Waterproofing system and installer records where applicable
- Shower, tapware and surface care sheets
- Ventilation instructions and plumbing/electrical documents
Keep a dated record of observations, cleaning, servicing and repairs. Share relevant records when asking for help. Only carry out work you can do safely and competently; use the appropriate qualified trade for specialist work.
