TrickyBuilds guidance · Checked 22 October 2026 · About TrickyBuilds
This is a general care guide for this service. Use the instructions for the products actually installed and the information supplied for your job. Manufacturer links are reference resources, not a statement that those brands were used on your project.
Looking after the work
- Look from ground level for impact damage, loose fittings and changes around posts or roof connections.
- Arrange roof and gutter care to suit the installed materials and local exposure. Keep vehicle manoeuvring clear of posts.
- Keep surface water moving through the intended drainage system. Report pooling or erosion around supports.
- Check before enclosing sides, adding storage overhead, installing solar panels or attaching a gate. These changes can alter the loads and approval pathway.
When to contact us
- A post struck by a vehicle, a moving connection or a change in alignment.
- Loose roofing, overflow or ground washing away near a support.
For an immediate threat to people, leave the danger area and call 111. For urgent building assistance, call 021 041 3920 to check availability. The online form is not an emergency service.
Keep these records
- Roofing and coating care sheets
- Design, installation and approval records where applicable
- Drainage layout and repair/service records
Keep a dated record of observations, cleaning, servicing and repairs. Share relevant records when asking for help. Only carry out work you can do safely and competently; use the appropriate qualified trade for specialist work.
