This is a general care guide for this service. Use the instructions for the products actually installed and the information supplied for your job. Manufacturer links are reference resources, not a statement that those brands were used on your project.
Looking after the work
- Take dated photos from the same safe viewpoints so changes can be compared over time.
- Check visible drainage outlets and surface-water routes for blockage. Arrange safe clearing and assessment when access is difficult.
- Keep added soil, vehicles and heavy storage away from the top unless the wall’s designer has confirmed the loading.
- Seek advice from a suitably qualified practitioner or engineer before excavating, strengthening, extending or changing drainage around the wall.
When to contact us
- New cracks, bowing, leaning, ground movement or water building up behind the wall.
- Tree roots pushing the wall, erosion or rapidly changing conditions; keep clear.
For an immediate threat to people, leave the danger area and call 111. For urgent building assistance, call 021 041 3920 to check availability. The online form is not an emergency service.
Keep these records
- Engineering/design details and relevant council records
- Drainage layout and baseline photographs
- Inspection, clearing and repair history
Keep a dated record of observations, cleaning, servicing and repairs. Share relevant records when asking for help. Only carry out work you can do safely and competently; use the appropriate qualified trade for specialist work.
