Insurance repair aftercare

Keep the repair scope, insurer correspondence and care records together.

TrickyBuilds guidance · Checked 22 October 2026 · About TrickyBuilds

This is a general care guide for this service. Use the instructions for the products actually installed and the information supplied for your job. Manufacturer links are reference resources, not a statement that those brands were used on your project.

Looking after the work

  • Retain the approved repair scope and record any items handled separately. A building quote does not decide insurance cover.
  • Keep before, during and after photographs, invoices and written approvals in your claim file.
  • Follow care instructions for the repaired surfaces and systems. Report recurring water entry or damage promptly.
  • Discuss new damage and proposed extra work with the insurer and project team before authorising non-urgent changes. Immediate hazards need appropriate emergency help.

When to contact us

  • Recurring damage, a repair that changes unexpectedly or a new leak.
  • A difference between the approved scope and what you believe remains outstanding.

For an immediate threat to people, leave the danger area and call 111. For urgent building assistance, call 021 041 3920 to check availability. The online form is not an emergency service.

Keep these records

  • Claim reference and insurer contacts
  • Approved scope, variations, invoices and completion photos
  • Product care sheets and trade documentation

Keep a dated record of observations, cleaning, servicing and repairs. Share relevant records when asking for help. Only carry out work you can do safely and competently; use the appropriate qualified trade for specialist work.
