Sleepouts & backyard studios budget planner
A starting point
for your budget.
This calculator is for an unplumbed building. A bathroom or kitchen changes the scope and may change the building’s requirements.
Use these ranges to plan your project. NZD including GST. They are indicative budgets, not quotes.
No contact details needed to explore. The $75 initial visit is separate from these project allowances.
Indicative budget
What this allowance excludes
Plumbing, kitchen/bathroom, delivery, site foundations, power connection, design/approval costs and external works.
Your project and estimate will be added to the booking. $75 same-job credit if you proceed within six months.

Can it be a home office?
Yes, we can discuss a studio layout, light, insulation and power needs around the way you work.
Can I add a bathroom or kitchenette?
Tell us at the visit. A self-contained space needs a different budget and assessment; see the tiny-home page for an initial building allowance.
Is a small sleepout automatically exempt?
No. Size alone does not establish the applicable requirements. We assess the intended use, design and site before agreeing a pathway.
Where do you work?
We service Auckland-wide, including West Auckland, the North Shore, Central, East and South Auckland. Travel beyond Auckland is by arrangement; contact Caleb before booking.
